100 years of REISSER Schraubentechnik GmbH

"These anniversaries don't come along every day. Unfortunately we're unable to celebrate in the way we'd like to. I myself have been with REISSER for over 30 years now and have already been able to experience some highlights. We have taken our 100th anniversary as an opportunity to position ourselves in a modern and future-proof way. We are synonymous with innovation and clever solutions. In the future, we will also demonstrate this in the application areas of timber construction and rear-ventilated façades. I'm looking forward with great pleasure to the next few years," says Michael Dartsch.

Modern electroplating conserves environmental resources
In its own in-house electroplating department, REISSER offers coating solutions for components from a very wide variety of industries. These include the automotive industry, valve technology and mechanical engineering. A new electroplating centre was inaugurated at the company's site in Ingelfingen-Criesbach in 2019. The zinc drum plant developed for this purpose is considered one of the most modern in the world in the field of alloy-free zinc technology. REISSER also focuses on the topic of environmental protection. Recently, a new sustainable passivation method not involving the addition of hypophosphite has been developed to address the issue of industrial wastewater and its chemical components. The DELTA®-PASSIVATION SHINY 30 was developed following several months of development work. Passivation that meets the highest quality requirements and protects the environment by eliminating processing steps and materials.

Sustainable management is close to our hearts at REISSER. The company is also synonymous with innovative strength, inventiveness and clever products. The aim of every product launch is to make customers' everyday work easier – thanks to simplified assembly, time savings or because entire work steps are eliminated. In the future, this passion and know-how will also flow into the application areas of wood construction and rear-ventilated façades. As a topic that cuts across all fields, digitisation is also a key element of our strategy for the future – both in processes and in networking and communication with customers.

From the start-up to the fastening technology cluster
Today, the founding of the company in 1921 would be described as a start-up. Three brothers Gotthilf, Hermann and August Reisser went into business for themselves with several hardware stores in Hohenlohe, thereby laying the foundations for today's REISSER Schraubentechnik. As early as the 1930s, the trade in screws and wire nails was flourishing even beyond the country's borders in Austria, Hungary and Silesia. The company developed very successfully and expanded its business areas. A further business area added to the trade was galvanic surface finishing, which was still a novelty at that time.

No one could have imagined 100 years ago that the company would also become a starting point for the fastening cluster in Hohenlohe. One of the apprentices, long-time employees and fellow residents of the Reisser family was Adolf Würth, who founded his own company in 1945.

In 1952, REISSER launched its own screw production with the construction of a plant in Künzelsau. In 1972, the headquarters was moved to Ingelfingen-Criesbach, where it is still located today. The product range currently includes more than 8,000 different screws and connecting elements made of stainless steel, brass, steel and copper, as well as special materials and alloys. The company has been part of the Würth Group since 1994.
