18,000 REISSER spacer screws hold 6,000 m² of rear ventilated facades

Unlike conventional screws, the spacer screw has two different threads on the head and tip. The profile to be fastened (wood or aluminium) is held at a distance with the head thread. The anchor thread is used for fastening in the substrate by means of plastic frame anchors for tensile and compressive load transfer. This can be read in the corresponding RDS approval "Z-21.2.2130". The RDS can be used without any problems in all commercially-available insulation materials and profiles – both in new buildings and in renovations.

The invisible and no longer accessible installation means that the material A4 is required in the rear ventilated facade. REISSER is the only "Made in Germany" manufacturer to offer the spacer screw in the required material A4. Based on the numerical calculation for low thermal conductivity of the material, this results in only a minimal heat loss as a positive effect. The A4 material also enables mounting on facades that are resistant to de-icing salt water, e.g. in saltwater zones and outdoor wellness areas.

In view of the simplified mounting of substructures for the rear ventilated facades with approved frame anchors, considerable time and material savings are apparent when using the RDS compared with conventional installation. Fewer work steps mean that a shorter assembly time and thus greater economic efficiency are achieved. This involves easy installation without cumbersome cutting-out of the insulation. Insulation waste is thus sustainably reduced, and insulation faults and air pockets are prevented.

An exact calculation of the number of screws per m² is possible based on static pull-out tests carried out at the construction site by REISSER and by determining the facade load.

This made it possible to determine a requirement of 18,000 spacer screws for the Rümikerstrasse building project with a total facade area of 6,000 m².

Furthermore, the RDS in stainless steel A4 as a fire protection-compliant connection system fulfils the current fire protection requirements and is therefore a safe product for rear ventilated facades.

The RDS can also be used for subsequent visual changes to facades, such as elements made of Maxplatten, Alucobond, Eternit (Cemprit), advertising board fixings, wood panelling or later solar panel installations.
